Introduction

Welcome to the AGWA Groundwater Guardian Web site. Our Groundwater Guardian Team was formed in February 1998 in an effort to promote shared responsibility for groundwater protection by assisting communities with their local groundwater protection activities.

Sponsored by the Groundwater Foundation in Lincoln, Nebraska, the Affiliate has identified Result Oriented Services focused on assisting Groundwater Guardian Communities in Southern California. In 1997 there were eight Communities in California, six of which are located in Southern California. They include:

  • Agua Dulce
  • Desert Hot Springs
  • Inglewood

Since 1984 the Groundwater Foundation has been working to create an informed citizenry caring about and for groundwater. The Foundation reaches thousands of people each year through innovative and engaging publications and programs. Find out more via their Web site through our Links section.

This year the Groundwater Foundation is holding their national conference in Anaheim. Join us November 12-15, 1998 for an excellent opportunity to network and learn more about how Communities can protect groundwater. For further information call Cindy Kreifels or Amy Killham at 800-858-4844.
